Scarborough is misunderstood by people who have never lived there and understood immediately by the people who have. The Scarborough Bluffs are one of the most dramatic natural formations in southern Ontario, 15 kilometres of 90-metre clay cliffs above Lake Ontario. Bluffer's Park at the base draws visitors from across the city. The Scarborough Town Centre is the retail and transit hub of the east end. The Agha Khan Museum in the northwest edge is one of the finest Islamic art museums in the world. Scarborough has more authentic cultural depth per square kilometre than most of Toronto's premium west-end neighbourhoods.

That price point draws a specific buyer: the family upgrading from rental, the investor building a rental portfolio, the first-generation buyer who wants Toronto without paying downtown prices. The Bluffs pockets and the Upper Beaches adjacency near Kingston Road command premiums within Scarborough. The Scarborough RT extension to the subway network is funded and will change travel times from parts of the district. Buyers who buy now in the right pockets ahead of that infrastructure change have history on their side.
